Townsville Holding Yards Stormwater Management Plan

We were commissioned to devise a Stormwater Management Plan for a proposed cattle holding yard facility in Townsville.

This project required an assessment of the impacts that the proposed facility was likely to have on stormwater quantity and quality. Once identified,we recommended that designed mitigation infrastructure be implemented in the development to alleviate any adverse effects.

Ensuring there was no worsening of the existing flow regime in a state-owned roadway adjacent to the site was of particular importance. The outcomes of the plan required a development to implement large ‘holding’ ponds (evaporation ponds) and additional onsite detention.
