Brisbane Valley Feedlot development
Australian Country Choice operates Brisbane Valley Feedlot, which is in the Lockyer Valley.
The existing pen layout had many shortcomings, and the site had numerous constraints, including high rainfall, steep slopes, and a confined area. Furthermore, it was not possible to feed the licensed capacity at the site (3,100 standard cattle units).
Our team surveyed the site and, in consultation with management, proposed several different layouts to achieve 3,100 SCU with good pen design and functional site layout.
After considering all the options, earthwork calculations were undertaken for the preferred layout. Improvements to the drainage and sedimentation basin design were also undertaken.
