Supporting the Airlie Beach Foreshore Revitalisation project

We provided a concept and detailed design of alterations to the existing Coconut Grove and Ocean Road to enable commencement of the proposed Airlie Beach Foreshore Revitalisation project.

The proposed changes saw the extension of Ocean Road to a new cul-de-sac fit for use by coaches, on-street car parking modification, and the relocation of the existing bus/transit terminal.

Our team also facilitated comprehensive stakeholder and community consultation processes in order to ascertain the needs of foreshore users. This led to the development of a new traffic management plan, and bringing forward of the roadworks component of the project to minimise interruption to one of the major Foreshore users, the Lions Airlie Beach Markets.

To accommodate the Ocean Road extension, the existing Port of Airlie Sea Wall also required some modification extension. As the lead engineers for the project, we provided the following design services:

Roadworks and stormwater drainage Services relocation/protection

Pedestrian pathways (including disabled access)

Off-street car park and loading zone reconfiguration

Marine engineering (new sea wall) Flora and fauna surveys

Cost estimating Statutory approvals (including Tidal Works Applications)
